Thunderbird can find most settings by itself. Check them before you finish.

  1. Add your account
  2. All the settings

Before the switch. Until your domain’s MX record points to Patra, some mail apps suggest your old provider’s servers. Check that both the incoming and the outgoing server say mail.trypatra.com before you finish.

Add your account

  1. Open Thunderbird. The first time, account setup opens by itself. Otherwise, on recent versions open the main menu, then New Account, then Email; on older versions choose File, then New, then Existing Mail Account.
  2. Enter your name, full email address and password, then Continue.
  3. Check that the settings Thunderbird finds show IMAP with mail.trypatra.com. If they don’t, choose Configure manually.
  4. If you configure manually: incoming: IMAP, mail.trypatra.com, port 993, SSL/TLS, Normal password; outgoing: SMTP, mail.trypatra.com, port 465, SSL/TLS, Normal password; username for both: your full email address.
  5. Choose Re-test, then Done.
