Export your mail or close your account
Your mail is yours. Export it whenever you like, and leave whenever you want.

Export your mail
- Each person can copy their own mailbox: add the address to a desktop mail app that uses IMAP, such as Thunderbird or Apple Mail.
- Moving to another provider? Add both accounts to the same app and drag your folders across.
- Contacts: in webmail, use Export Contacts to save a vCard file.
Close your account
- Cancel your subscription in Billing, so it doesn’t renew.
- Make sure everyone has exported what they want to keep.
- Write to hello@trypatra.com from your account’s contact address and ask us to close the account. We confirm with you before we close it.
What happens to your data
- Your mailboxes can be restored for 30 days after the account closes, if you change your mind. After that they can be deleted for good at any time. Want them deleted straight away? Say so when you ask us to close the account.
- Copies in our backups are deleted later, as our Privacy Policy describes.
- We may keep account and billing records for longer where the law requires it.
Moving your domain’s mail elsewhere
Your domain stays yours. Point its MX record to your new provider when you’re ready. Then remove the records you added for Patra: the signing key, the Outlook record, any bounce records, and Patra’s include in your SPF record. Keep your DMARC record if your new provider uses one.
Through a partner?
If your email comes through a Patra partner, ask your partner.
