  2. Option 2: by hand
  3. Remove a profile

Option 1: settings profile (recommended)

  1. On the iPhone or iPad, open your setup page in Safari.
  2. Under iPhone, iPad or Mac (Apple Mail), tap Download settings, then Allow.
  3. Open Settings and tap Profile Downloaded near the top. If you don’t see it, go to General, then VPN & Device Management.
  4. Tap Install, enter your passcode and confirm.
  5. Enter your email password when asked. Your mail appears in the Mail app.

The profile holds only the server names and your address, never your password. iOS shows it as unsigned; that’s expected.

Option 2: by hand

  1. Go to Settings, then Apps, then Mail, then Mail Accounts, then Add Account. On older versions of iOS: Settings, then Mail, then Accounts, then Add Account.
  2. Tap Other, then Add Mail Account. Enter your name, full email address, password and a description, then tap Next.
  3. Choose IMAP. For both the incoming and the outgoing mail server, enter the host name mail.trypatra.com, your full email address as the user name, and your password.
  4. Tap Next, then Save.

If it doesn’t connect:

  • Open the account, then Account, then Advanced: turn on Use SSL and set the port to 993.
  • Then go to SMTP, then mail.trypatra.com: turn on Use SSL and set the port to 465.

All the settings are in Settings for any mail app.

Remove a profile

Go to Settings, then General, then VPN & Device Management, choose the profile, then Remove Profile.
