Storage, limits and fair use
Your plan gives your account one pool of storage. Every mailbox shares it, within a few clear limits.

Shared storage
Every mailbox shares your plan’s storage. The Overview page shows your usage, which updates about every 15 minutes.
Limit one mailbox
In Users, you can give a person their own limit, as long as it’s smaller than your plan: for example 1, 2, 5, 10 or 25 GB. Without a limit, they share the whole pool.
When storage runs low
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| 80% and 95% full | We email you a warning, for the account and for any mailbox with its own limit. |
| The account’s storage is full | New mail is held and delivered as soon as there’s space. After 3 days, held mail goes back to its sender. |
| A mailbox reaches its own limit | New mail to it is held and retried. If there’s still no room after 3 days, it goes back to the sender. |
To free up space, delete large old messages and empty Trash and Junk Mail, or move to a bigger plan. A bigger plan applies at once.
Sending limits
| Limit | Value |
|---|---|
| Recipients per message | 50 |
| Per address | 400 recipients an hour, 1,000 a day |
| Per account, per day | 400 (10 GB), 600 (25 GB), 1,000 (50 GB). Other plans: the total shown in Billing. |
Each recipient counts as one email: a message to 30 people uses 30. When your account reaches its daily total, sending resumes on its own as the 24-hour window moves on. Receiving isn’t affected.
Message size
Incoming messages can be up to 35 MB in total. For messages you send, keep attachments under about 25 MB in total: attachments grow by about a third on the way, and bigger messages can be refused by us or by the receiving server. Share big files as a link.
Fair use
Up to 1,000 mailboxes and 100 domains per account; ask us if a real business needs more. Patra is for business mail between people (see the Acceptable Use Policy).
During review
An account can have up to 2 domains and 5 users until it’s approved.
