Aliases, groups and catch-all
Extra addresses cost nothing. Here’s which kind to use.
Which one to use
| You want | Use | Example |
|---|---|---|
| One person to get mail at another address | Alias | info@, then maya@ |
| Several people to get the same mail | Group | sales@, then maya@ and daniel@ |
| Mail to addresses that don’t exist to reach someone | Catch-all | anything@, then maya@ |
Aliases
In Users, add an alias to a person. Mail to the alias arrives in their mailbox. Remove it from the same place.
Groups
Open Groups, enter the address and choose members, then Create group.
- Members are people in your account.
- Change members, then Save members.
- Delete group removes it.
- Groups are free.
Catch-all
Open Groups, then Catch-all, choose a person for each domain, then Save. It’s off by default, so mail to addresses that don’t exist is refused. A catch-all also collects spam sent to made-up addresses, so turn it on only if you need it.
Plus addresses
Mail to name+anything@yourcompany.com reaches name@ automatically. There’s nothing to set up.
